APAO Achievement Awards

1. Aim: to recognize individuals for their time and contribution to the scientific programs of the APAO congresses.

2. Cumulative Point System have 3 categories of achievement awards:

  • Achievement Award (10 points)

  • Senior Achievement Award (30 points)

  • Life Achievement honor Award (60 points)

3. The categories of contribution for participation in the annual congress include various forms of presentations.

*Both authors and coauthors are awarded points towards the Achievement Award Program.

4. Travel Grant for the Bali Congress


The APAO Travel Grant provides partial travel support to up and coming young ophthalmologists within the Asia-Pacific region to attend the APAO-AAO Joint Meeting, Bali 2009. With the aim of partially covering the travelling expenses for participation in the Joint Meeting. This is an integral part of our effort to further the training and education of young eye doctors and to raise the standard of eye care in the Asia-Pacific region.


Details of the APAO Travel Grant

  1. Value of APAO Travel Grant: US$500 per eye doctor.

  2. Only eye doctors of age 40 or below with accepted free paper, poster, or video presentations in the submitted scientific program of APAO-AAO Joint Meeting, Bali 2009, are eligible.

  3. APAO Travel Grant Selection Committee will select up to 20 APAO Travel Grant recipients.

  4. APAO Travel Grants are provided by package sponsors* of the APAO-AAO Joint Meeting, Bali 2009.
