Message from Prof. Dennis Lam, Editor-in-Chief

I am pleased to share with you that the formation of the Editorial Board is complete. You can find in the next section a full list of our Editors and Editorial Board Members. I am glad that the APJO has received enthusiastic support from lots of world-leading eye experts, whose joint efforts will surely turn the APJO into an internationally recognized eye journal in due course.

On top of its elite Advisory and Editorial Boards, I have another piece of good news to share. The APJO has entered into an agreement with Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, which is one of the leading publishers in subspecialty-based and review eye journals. Its major publications include Retina, Cornea, Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, Eye & Contact Lens, Journal of Glaucoma, Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology, as well as Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. As a comprehensive journal that caters to the need of various subspecialties, the APJO can complement the existing collection of eye journals published by LWW, whose expertise in publishing and indexing will surely assist in the development of the APJO. Manuscript submissions can be made via the system provided by LWW in late November. Please follow us closely at: http://www.apaophth.org/eJournal/index.shtml.

As the official journal of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, individual members of its member organizations will enjoy permanent free access and it is estimated that the APJO will have a potential readership of over 50,000. In addition, free access will be granted to all non-members in the first year upon its official launch. The APJO is likely to become one of the most widely circulated eye journals in the world!

Quality is the major criterion of the APJO. In regard to its strong Advisory and Editorial Boards, experienced publishing partner and wide circulation, the APJO positions itself as a comprehensive eye journal that publishes quality papers, which are indispensable to its success. In order to obtain a good impact factor, I cordially invite you to submit to us quality original articles and review articles on hot topics. I would also appreciate it if you would encourage your colleagues and associates to submit to us their interesting findings and observations. I look forward to your reading your manuscript(s)!
